Boothstown is a former coal-mining and cotton village, about 10 miles west of the centre of Manchester. The village is located between Worsley and Tyldesley and is bounded by the Bridgewater Canal and open land to the south and the East Lancashire Road (A580) to the north. As a village Boothstown has expanded rapidly in the last 30 years, but has retained its identity as it has been absorbed into the surrounding suburban area.

Boothstown Football Club is an FA Charter Standard Community Club catering for the growing population of children, young people and adults from Boothstown and the surrounding area who want to get involved with grassroots football. The Club has around 400 registered players, aged from under-7 to adult and we can also boast an Academy for children under 6 years of age places in which are very highly sought after.
Boothstown FC is a relatively young football club having only been established since1995, but we are already well respected amongst football clubs and leagues in and around the Manchester area as we have teams playing in leagues in the Salford, Bolton, Bury and South Manchester.
BFC is run entirely by people who give their time voluntarily simply because they have an interest in football and young people. Any funds we raise are used within the club to develop new opportunities for our members whether that be in playing, coaching, managing or refereeing grassroots football.
In accordance with our Charter Standard status, each of the Club’s teams have at least two coaches who are qualified to at a minimum of FA Level 1 Standard, with each of them also having attained FA qualifications in First Aid and Child Protection.
The Club aims to provide a positive and healthy outlet for the energies of anyone from our local area who wishes to take part in grassroots football and with the support of the community, our players and their families, the Club will endeavour to develop further and to be an even greater asset to the Boothstown area.
